QA Compliance is a group of specific QA disciplines that require a high degree of specialized knowledge, technical expertise, and/or bespoke tools in order to be successfully executed. They involve designing and testing products to ensure that they precisely meet a range of prescribed or pre-agreed criteria, such as the technical standards prescribed by the various console manufacturers, regional Age Rating requirements, Legal and/or corporate legislation, or the expected functionality and performance of online components.
The QA Compliance Analyst II role is responsible for the development, maintenance and execution of high quality specialized testing procedures and support services during the QA process, leveraging expert-level knowledge within their area of specialization. As QA Compliance is considered a high-complexity, high-risk area of the overall QA process, the ability to deliver accurate testing to deadline and produce strong results is critical.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain expert-level knowledge pertaining to the applicable area of specialization, such as Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo technical requirements, or online gaming infrastructure and technology implementation, ensuring that any changes are widely communicated and reflected in the testing process.
• Knowledge of Sony and Microsoft standards is preferred as well as knowledge of PC.
• Provide ongoing support for local and/or remote testing teams in order to aid knowledge transfer and maintain sufficient skill-levels amongst all testing teams.
• Create and maintain test cases and knowledgebase and execute efficient, thorough and pertinent testing and fault reporting.
• Set and manage the daily testing tasks for a small team of testers on the assigned project; prioritise work accordingly within the test schedule and ensure compliancy with all defined QA process.
• Publish regular testing reports, analysis, and process documentation as required by the management team.
• Identify best practice to ensure that effective and consistent testing methodologies are applied across different projects.
• Aid in the development of onboarding and training materials for new testing staff.
• Actively support development and embedded QA teams to aid them in designing and engineering products that meet prescribed and/or pre-agreed standards and requirements.
• Assist with development of product designs and planned feature implementation in order to identify risks and issues in relation to the area of specialisation; document and propose workable solutions.
• Conduct impact analysis for any project design changes with regular and frequent communication to partner teams.
• Formulate strong relationships, based on skills, knowledge and trust, with development teams, embedded QA teams and other remote test teams.
• Constantly promote QA Compliance within the development community and actively seek out additional tasks that would benefit from QA Compliance input.
• Actively participate in global Specialized QA initiatives in order to drive greater collaboration and standardization between all regional Specialized QA teams.
BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree is required (Computer Science or related field is preferred).
• Proven track record of leading a testing team within a QA organization delivering multiple simultaneous projects.
• Proven experience of successfully working within a distributed multi-site environment.
• Strong knowledge of software development processes and technical understanding of game elements.
• Excellent knowledge of standard office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; must be fluent in English.
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude under pressure, operating with a high degree of integrity.
• Strong interest in video games and software testing on current gaming platforms.
• Attention to detail – a meticulous approach to tasks.
• Ability to come up with different approaches to testing; strong research skills to identify root cause of problems.
• Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual.
